Our Schools, Our Students, Our Future
—Vote Yes on Measure O
MEASURE O - the Pasadena Unified School District’s $516,300,000 Technology + Facilities Improvement Bond – is a wonderful opportunity to greatly strengthen the public schools of Altadena, Pasadena and Sierra Madre and invest in the future of our community.
When passed, Measure O will be a huge step forward for the schools, the students, their families and, of course, the entire community.
WHY DO WE NEED MEASURE O?
- The COVID-19 crisis makes it clear that our schools must have the best available technology to support teacher and student success. Measure O provides critical funds for exactly that - creating, maintaining and continually upgrading cutting-edge software, hardware, and supporting infrastructure, plus high-quality labs and other facilities to support robust PUSD programs and curricula.
IMPROVING OUR EDUCATIONAL HERITAGE
- Most PUSD facilities are well-designed, well-built, historic, and beautiful, with some up to 100 years old. They are both part of our local heritage and important cultural landmarks. Measure O provides the funds that would ensure that PUSD buildings will remain safe and functional for decades to come.
CREATING A SUSTAINABLE AND COST-EFFECTIVE FUTURE
- Measure O also provides funds to install solar power, increase building efficiency, and smart water use for landscaping – helping to save the environment and shifting precious dollars to the classroom.
IMPROVED FACILITIES TO PREPARE STUDENTS FOR THE FUTURE
- Graduates must be ready for success in this uncertain, changing world. Measure O allows continued creation and maintenance of up-to-date facilities that support student success, including infrastructure for technology; visual and performing arts; athletics; job skill-building spaces; open labs for robotics, coding, 3D printing and similar activities; classrooms that meet evolving 21st century standards and more.

SUPPORT MEASURE O
Our public schools are one of our community’s most valuable and important public resources. They prepare our future community leaders, and they protect our property values. They’re key to addressing inequity and inequality.
Early community leaders made schools a top priority and invested in them accordingly. Now it’s our job to maintain, upgrade and enhance that work.
Great public schools are important to all of us, whether or not we have children or grandchildren in school. To be a great community, we must have great public schools.
